 Formal Training in Qigong at Qi Elements


Because of the life-style changes of the last 100 years, Qigong is more necessary today than ever before in its 2500 year history.
                                                             
                                                                                                                                    Dr. Yang, Jwing Ming



Qi Elements offers a formal program of study and testing in Qigong for Health and Healing. 

This program consists mainly of Qigong routines and practices that Sifu Blough has learned from Dr. Yang Jwing Ming.  It differs from our Taiji-Qigong program in that students are not required to learn the Taijiquan bare-hand long sequence.
 

Upon completion of formal training and testing the student will know:


Qigong theory

Medical Qigong Forms:  Eight Pieces Brocade (Standing and Sitting), Four Seasons Qigong; Five Animal Sports

Taiji Qigong Forms:  Primary Set, Coiling Set, Rocking Set, Solo Taiji Ball Qigong

Qigong Breathing, Meditation, and Qi Circulation:  Back to Childhood Breathing, Reverse Abdominal Breathing, Yongquan Breathing, Four Gates Breathing, Grand Circulation, Small Circulation, Embryonic Breathing

Soft Qigong:  White Crane Flying Qigong, Yin-Yang Symbol Silk-Reeling Qigong



Qigong Class Schedule

Qigong Workout, Wednesdays 7:30-8:30 PM.  This class features meditation and active Qigong exercises for cultivating internal energ;, improving strength, flexibility and coordination; and strengthing the spirit.  Class foci for October, November and December 2011 are Five Animal Sports and Taiji Ball Qigong.

Gentle Qigong, Saturdays 11:00 AM - 12 Noon.  This class features a combination of standing and sitting Qigong exercises for general health.

Midday Meditation, Starting in January 2012, Tuesdays and Thursdays 12:15 AM -1:00 PM.  Instruction and practice of Taoist Qigong breathing, Qi ciruclation and meditation techniques, standing and sitting meditation, yong quan breathing, four gates breathing, small and grand circulation. 

Medical Qigong, resuming in January 2012, Mondays 10:00-11:00 AM.

Students are also encouraged to attend seminars by our Qigong Grand Master Dr. Yang, Jwing Ming at the YMAA Headquarters in Boston, MA in January and February and at the YMAA Retreat Center in Miranda, CA in July and August
.   We also encourage students to take advantage of opportunities to train with Wu, Zhongxian of Charlottesville, VA; Liang, Shou Yu of Vancouver, Canada; and Lisa O'Shea of Rochester NY.
